Explore the stunning, unspoilt region of The Lot Valley, where you will find the medieval town of Cahors, captivating stone villages, such as Rocamadour, Monflanquin and Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and not to forget the breathtakingly beautiful, Château Bonaguil.

 

Cahors is a thirty minute drive from Gite la Fleurieu and is famous for its unmissable Pont Valentré.  One of France’s most iconic medieval bridges, dating back to the 14th century.

 

There are cafes and restaurants aplenty and the ancient medieval quarters are home to narrow winding streets, medieval town houses and the Romanesque Cathédral St-Étienne.

 

Château Bonaguil dates back from the 13th century and is a very interesting place to explore. The Chateau hosts spectacular, Summer firework events as well as having restaurants and local artisans, selling unique pieces, antiques and collectibles.

 

Locally there are many Brocantes/flea markets to discover, which are held throughout the year. A chance to pick up some local treasures!
