Puy l’Évêque and local area
Puy l’Évêque is a quaint town situated north of Toulouse and in The Lot Valley. The town is steeped in ancient history and is set on a hill over looking the picturesque River Lot.
Through winding, narrow lanes, passing medieval houses, you can make your way up to the market place, Place de la Truffière, situated in front of the grand Mairie. Here you will find a few local shops, restaurants and bakery. A perfect place to relax, unwind and watch the world go by. This is also the location of the weekly market, where you can pick up some local French fancies.
Just a stones throw from the market place is the Church of Saint Sauveur, a 14th century fortified church with an inviting entrance.
Surrounding Puy l’Évêque are miles of beautiful, quiet vineyards, perfect for cycling and running or, of course, for sampling the local grape and taking in the stunning views.
